Every child and family situation is different.   Dr. Levinson tailors her services to meet your unique and dynamic needs.  Her range of services for children and their families includes but is not limited to:

Parent-only session(s) to discuss development, parenting strategies, and/or support with academic or emotional issues. Independent assessment of existing school-based evaluations, with specific recommendations for learning are also available.

Parental Consults

Individual Therapy

Private 50-minute sessions with your child or adolescent to work on behavioral or emotional issues, with an emphasis on CBT and the development of healthy coping and life skills.

Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessments

Comprehensive assessments evaluating a child’s cognitive potential, memory, learning, academic, and social and emotional development.  Assessments are tailored to the individual and target the specific areas of concern.  A typical evaluation may include the following:

  • 1-hour parent intake meeting to understand a child’s strengths and weaknesses, background history and development, with a focus on presenting concerns.  From this, an evaluation plan is developed.
  • Consultation with teachers and other professionals involved with student’s learning and educational program.
  • Classroom observation to link the clinical testing and observations with a child’s natural environment.
  • Testing:  Typically 6-8 hours of testing over 2-3 sessions in the office.
  • Comprehensive Report:  Sharing all test results and findings, and focusing on specific recommendations to help your child function better in his/her world.
  • In-person Review:  Approximately one month post-testing,  a 1-hour feedback session is scheduled with the parents to review the report and put a plan in place that implements these recommendations and/or strategies.
  • As needed, a follow up with the child to discuss his/her strengths and challenges as a learner and to explain what the evaluation results mean in child-friendly language.

Note on Insurance and Billing

Dr. Levinson does not accept insurance and is an out-of-network provider.  

Many health insurance companies will cover some portion of the consultations, therapy, and evaluations.  A coded bill will be provided for those who wish to submit for reimbursement.  However, as Dr. Levinson does not bill insurance companies directly, payment is expected at the time of service.
